ABOUT: Winter hardy biennial, also known as Honesty, Silver Dollar and Judas’s Penny. An ideal plant for naturalized, wildflower areas. Attractive purple flowers in spring bloom with the lilacs. Seed pods resemble shimmery silver “coins” and are popular in winter arrangements. Reseeds readily.
HOW TO GROW: Recommended: Direct sow in fall, 1-2 weeks after the last frost for blooms the following spring. Alternatively, sow in early spring for blooms the following year. Seed depth: Barely cover. Thin to 12-15″ between plants.
