Swiss Chard ‘Ruby Red / Rhubarb’ – Seed Packet

An 1850s heirloom with striking ruby red stalks and deep green leaves with red-veining. This vigorous variety has a long growing season and a milder flavor than other chards. Its nutrient dense leaves can be steamed, stir-fried, added to lasagna, soups and stews, or mixed with other greens. Makes an excellent container variety.

HOW TO GROW: Direct sow in spring 2 to 4 weeks before the last frost date for a summer crop or in mid to late summer for a fall crop. Seed depth: 1/2″ Sow a group of 2 seeds every 8″. When 1/2″ tall, thin to 1 every 8 inches. Row Spacing: 18″
